YBI Event to Bring Business Owners to Bidding Organizations - WKBN

Two Valley services that help entrepreneurs get off the ground are teaming up for an event in Youngstown.

The Youngstown Business Incubator (YBI) and the Youngstown/Warren Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) are hosting The Connector. It’s an event to help business owners grow by expanding supply chains, contracting, and navigating entry into sectors such as government, health care and transportation.

This is the second time for The Connector event.

“What we do is we bring suppliers and buyers in one room together. So any organization that has active bids or puts bids out throughout the year, we bring them in one room, and then we also bring our clients who are looking to bid on contracts… we put them together,” said Tanisha Wheeler, the Regional Director of Minority Business Assistance Center.

Participating organizations are expected to include the Ohio Department of Transportation, the
Western Reserve Transit Authority, the Youngstown Innovation Hub, the Mahoning-Youngstown
Community Action Partnership, the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp., Youngstown State University’s APEX Accelerator, the Ohio Department of Development’s Minority Business Development Division and the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District/Regional Sewer District.
