There’s been some progress with redevelopment of the U.S. Route 422 corridor, according to the 2014 progress report from the Trumbull County commissioners, the Youngstown Neighborhood Redevelopment Corp. and the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber.

The project to develop industry and stabilize neighborhoods along a stretch of U.S. Route 422 between Girard and Youngstown has been making progress since it was announced in 2014, according to a recently released report and officials involved in making the improvements.

Roads have been resurfaced and blighted buildings have been demolished in the first few months of a ten year plan to revitalize the Route 422 Corridor that runs through Youngstown and Girard.

People from all across the country bought vacant and foreclosed properties in Youngstown during the housing bubble of the 2000s.

Two members of the Youngstown City School District Academic Distress Commission are out, replaced by new appointees.
