A grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will help encourage participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan has announced.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today announced 32 grants totaling $16.8 million to help Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants increase their purchases of fruits and vegetables. 

Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation $498,880 to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables for Mahoning Valley residents.
