Lots of Green

Lots of Green is an innovative program that transforms the challenge of unmanaged vacant land into neighborhood assets. The program reactivates and repurposes vacant lots into neighborhood gardens, pocket parks, natural habitats and storm water demonstration sites.

Healthy Food Access

For local city dwellers, fresh produce close to home is like water in a desert – hard to find. That’s where Healthy Food Access comes in hand.

Deconstruction Training

The Deconstruction Training program creates green jobs that result in a green alternative to demolition. By teaching laborers to systematically disassemble a useless house, the building’s materials are efficiently reused and recycled.

Neighborhood Marketing

While notable neighborhood improvements resulting from the YNDC programs will certainly catapult a positive image of certain city pockets into the greater community, we will begin building a positive image of these neighborhoods now through external and internal marketing efforts

Green Homes

In the Green Homes program, houses are acquired and rehabilitated through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The properties – strategically selected for maximum visual market impact – set new standards of neighborhood maintenance.

Healthy Homeownership Program

The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC) offers a homeownership training and incentive program to increase the number of successful and healthy homeowners.
