Home Repair/Model Blocks

The Model Blocks Program is a focused neighborhood development program that seeks to comprehensively address physical conditions on targeted blocks in YNDC focus neighborhoods. The program has four key components: vacant land reuse strategies, homeownership training and incentives, home repair assistance, and neighborhood engagement. The goal of the program is to improve the physical conditions on targeted blocks and thereby increase market confidence and quality of life in YNDC focus neighborhoods through the rebuilding of market strength beginning on targeted model blocks. The program is strategically focused on the Idora and Lincoln Park Neighborhoods to create a visible impact as part of broader revitalization efforts.

The Model Blocks home repair program provides financial and volunteer assistance to improve the exterior of homes on target blocks. These include improvements to the exterior of structures and streetscapes, new signage, landscape treatments, exterior improvements, and removal of blight.
