Healthy Food Access

Many of Youngstown’s neighborhoods suffer from limited access to healthy fresh food. YNDC has begun comprehensive efforts to reintroduce healthy food options to city neighborhoods. These efforts include the development of community gardens, market gardener training, the development of a community supported agriculture program in partnership with Grow Youngstown, creation of partnerships with corner store owners to integrate healthier options.  The YNDC is also providing support to City of Youngstown in its efforts to attract full service grocery stores back to the city.
