Community Loan Fund

The YNDC is currently developing a Community Loan Fund (CLF) to provide alternative access to credit in underserved communities and to bolster continued revitalization and economic recovery in vulnerable and transitional neighborhoods. The loan fund supports financing for the purchase of owner occupied housing in Youngstown’s neighborhoods by providing a first-mortgage financing source for families. The CLF serves an underserved buyer market and reaches potential home buyers through marketing, workshops and consumer education. The project is a public/ private partnership which includes the City of Youngstown, The Raymond John Wean Foundation, The Home Savings and Loan Company, HUD-certified counseling agencies, banks, major employers, and other partners. The Community Loan Fund will formally launch in the first quarter of 2012.
