Tom Hetrick, Neighborhood Planner


Tom Hetrick is the Neighborhood Planner for the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC). Under the supervision of the Neighborhood Stabilization Director, he collaborates with a team of professional staff to provide general planning services for the City of Youngstown, Ohio. The planning services include: development of a neighborhood planning needs assessment, neighborhood conditions report, community input report, neighborhood planning prioritization plan, and the development of comprehensive neighborhood plans.

Though originally from Pennsylvania, Tom has considered Ohio home for the past decade, living in Boardman, Cleveland, Columbus, and most recently Warren. His work in Youngstown has included an inventory of underground storage tanks and a plan for the Glenwood Avenue corridor.

Tom holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor’s in Spanish Education from Youngstown State University. In addition to his work and studies in Ohio, he spent two years living in Asia followed by a year in Europe teaching ESL. Tom currently resides in Youngstown.
