Presley L. Gillespie, Executive Director


Presley L. Gillespie is Executive Director of the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC). As the Chief Executive of the corporation, he is responsible for consistent achievement of the organization’s mission and financial objectives; the development and execution of a long-range strategic plan; and day-to-day operations, management of development projects, regulatory compliance, liaison with governmental bodies, and all public relations.

Mr. Gillespie leads YNDC after a successful 18-year banking career, primarily focused on community development lending and community revitalization. Most recently, Mr. Gillespie served as Vice President for KeyBank where he was responsible for identifying, structuring and closing community development and commercial real estate loans that led to affordable housing, economic development and job creation. He has generated over $60 million dollars in community development transactions in the Greater Youngstown area.

Mr. Gillespie has a Bachelor of Arts in organizational communication from Youngstown State University.

Active in his community, Mr. Gillespie serves on the board of trustees of Wick Neighbors, Inc. He is also on the Board of Visitors for Youngstown State University’s College of Fine and Performing Arts, and is a member of Eastgate Regional Council of Governments’ Economic Development Committee. In 2009, he was appointed by Gov. Ted Strickland to the Governor’s Minority Business Advisory Council. In 2010 he was appointed by Governor Strickland to the Board of Trustees of the new Eastern Gateway Community College.

A 13-year resident, Mr. Gillespie lives in Youngstown with his wife Nora and their two children.
