Kenya Howard is a Senior Program Coordinator for the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation. Under the general direction of the Deputy Director, Kenya manages and implements the daily operation of various programming components including the Healthy Homeownership program and the Grey to Green Jobs Training program.
Kenya has lived in the Mahoning Valley most of her life and has worked in various capacities in community organizations and school districts as a tutor, school teacher, mentor, school-community liaison, after school program coordinator, assistant director and development director. She has several years of experience in grant research, grant writing, grant management and fundraising. From 2001-2005, she worked as Development Director for a non-profit agency, during which time it was her responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as they related to each individual grant. She also has significant experience in conducting needs assessment, statistical analysis, benchmarking and measuring outcomes, and program evaluation.
Ms. Howard holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, a M.Ed. from Westminster College, and an MBA from Youngstown State University. She currently resides in Warren, Ohio with her husband, James E. Howard Jr.
